Eating oranges with braces on is SUCH A PAIN IN THE BEHIND. The pulp seem to be extraordinarily good at splitting into tiny, mooshy pieces and inserting themselves in every conceivable nook and cranny between my teeth, in the brackets, around the brackets and between the wires. I swear, I so much as bite into an orange, all I will be swallowing is juice as anything chewable would have instantenously be lodged in the mentioned places. Argh irritating.

On a better note, although we all know it's important to take care of our pearly whites to delay our eventual need of dentures, braces give a truly great preview (or threat) of what life might be like without decent teeth. After you're done the treatment, you will have gained an appreciation of your teeth that you never would have otherwise. I sure as heck did - so much that I even these days I get nightmares about losing all my teeth -_-;
